On the Superform web app, you can connect with over 1,000 crypto wallets such as Metamask, Rabby, OKX Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, and more.
By default, all actions in Superform are routed through smart accounts. However, we recognize that many users still prefer to connect to apps with their existing wallet. So we created companion accounts to support these users. Companion accounts are hidden smart accounts created for each wallet connected to Superform. Every transaction passes through this smart account, while funds and vault shares reside in your wallet.
Unfortunately, you do not get all of the benefits of smart accounts with this method. Think of it as a smart account-lite. You get smart account benefits like:
Pay gas from any chain or with any token
Fund deposits with multiple tokens
Synchronous executions across multiple chains
Cross-chain transactions settle in 15 seconds
Lower slippage requirements
There are some limitations of companion accounts. These include:
Approvals still need to be done on a per-chain basis, meaning multiple signatures may be required to complete transactions
Native assets such as ETH cannot be deposited nor used to pay fees. However, you will still need ETH to approve permit2 transactions
Soon Superform will also support EIP-7702, transforming your EOA into a smart account with one signature. This will grant your wallet all of the benefits of smart accounts, without any of the limitations of companion accounts.
